Find the Anomaly

A plexiglass box filled with fake hundred dollar bills. Players of the game aimed to find the one real bill in the box.

The Goal: We were planning our booth for the biggest anti-money laundering industry event of the year. We wanted to grab attention, engage our audience, and deliver an important message: finding suspicious money laundering activity is hard, and AI technology makes it easier.

The Execution: It started as a crazy idea. “What if we had a cash box at our booth?” We looked into renting a cash booth and custom designing one. Reality hit, and we got creative to get it done. I bought a plexiglass box and a bunch of fake money.

In the end, it became a game: Find the Anomaly. Attendees fished through a sea of fake hundred dollar bills and tried find the real one. All along, we had a black light to help us find the real bill.

The Results: The game was a hit! We brought lots of traffic to our booth (“Is that real money??”), engaged in strong conversations with potential customers, and told an interesting story about AI for anti-money laundering. The project hit its intended goals.
